About Us

Sav-Eco Packaging was established in August 2014 by Shiraz Dharamshi, Faizali Dharamshi and Alnoor Walji. It was founded with the view that paper bag manufacturing was poised to grow significantly with the plastic bag tax being introduced and the fact that it is clearly a greener and more environmentally friendly packaging solutions for the ever growing consumer needs within the UK. Although we may be new within the packaging industry, between the owners of the company there is significant history and experience within UK manufacturing which is being leveraged to help have the same impact within the packaging industry.

Shiraz Dharamshi founded LPC Group PLC in 1980 and owned and managed the operation for over 30 years along with his brothers. After seeing a shortage in supply for the convenience store the family owned, Shiraz decided to purchase a second handle toilet tissue machine and the rest was history. By 2010, LPC Group was the market leader in the manufacturing of household paper and hygiene products and had operations throughout Europe, distributing products in over 27 countries. The company sold its operations to Sofidel UK Ltd in 2010, and now Shiraz and his partners have taken the view that there is a similar opportunity within the paper bag market and therefore throughout the last 2 years the company has invested a significant amount of time and money in paper converting machinery so that it is well placed to service the growing market within the UK.

Along with his experience the day to day management of the company is controlled by Faizali Dharamshi and Alnoor Walji, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation at their base in Leicester with plans to become one of the largest paper bag converters in the UK within the next 5 years. From our current 50,000 sqft premises we are able to produce approximately over 300 million bags per year with this figure is growing month on month with added investment and increasing demands from our customers.
